Purpose
This procedure describes how to sign in on a computer with a different user account (work or school account).
Important requirement
- The device must be connected to the internet.
Without an internet connection, you cannot sign in with a new or different account.
Step-by-step plan
1. Go to the sign-in screen
- Start the computer or sign out of the current user:
- Click Start → User icon → Sign out
- You will now arrive at the sign-in screen.
2. Choose another user
- At the bottom left, you may see existing users.
- Choose:
- "Other user"
(If visible, otherwise you will automatically go to this screen)
- "Other user"
3. Go to sign-in options
- On the sign-in screen:
- Click "Sign-in options"
4. Choose the key symbol
- Select the key symbol
(This represents signing in with username and password)
5. Sign in with your account
- Enter your email address (work or school account)
(e.g.firstname.lastname@company.be) - Enter your password
- Press Enter or click the arrow
6. Complete any additional verification
- If requested:
- Confirm via MFA (e.g. Microsoft Authenticator or SMS code)
7. First sign-in
- At a first login:
- It may take a few minutes
- Your profile will be set up automatically
Possible problems
No internet connection
- Sign-in fails
- Solution:
- Connect to Wi-Fi or network via the icon at the bottom right
Wrong sign-in option
- For example, you see a PIN field instead of an email address
- Solution:
- Click again on Sign-in options and select the key symbol
Incorrect password
- Check:
- Caps Lock
- Keyboard language
