This article explains how to set up and use Keeper Password Manager on Android, including KeeperFill, passwords, passkeys, 2FA codes, shared records, and folders.
1. Install Keeper and Sign In
Download Keeper Password Manager from the Google Play Store.
- Install and open Keeper.
- Sign in with your Keeper account.
- If prompted, complete the verification of your device or account.
2. Set Up Biometric Unlock
You can unlock Keeper on supported Android devices using your device’s biometric security, such as a fingerprint.
To do this, open Keeper’s Settings and enable the available biometric sign-in option.
3. Enable KeeperFill
With KeeperFill, Keeper can fill in usernames, passwords, 2FA codes, and passkeys in supported apps and browsers.
- Open Keeper.
- Go to Settings.
- Enable KeeperFill.
- Select Set Up.
- Choose Open Autofill Settings.
- Select Keeper in Android as your preferred service for passwords, passkeys, and autofill.
- Follow any additional instructions Keeper displays on your device.
- Return to Keeper and select Done.
Keeper recommends using Keeper as the primary autofill service. Having multiple active password managers can cause different autofill suggestions to appear simultaneously.
4. Add a New Record
A record contains, for example, the login details for a website or application.
- Open your Keeper Vault.
- Tap the + symbol.
- Choose the desired record type, for example Login.
- Give the record a clear name.
- Enter your username.
- Enter your password or let Keeper generate a strong password.
- Add the website address if applicable.
- Add notes, custom fields, files, or photos if needed.
- Save the record.
5. Use KeeperFill
When KeeperFill is set up:
- Open the app or website where you want to sign in.
- Tap in the username or password field.
- Choose the Keeper suggestion above the keyboard or tap Sign in to Keeper.
- Unlock Keeper when prompted.
- When Keeper finds a matching record, tap the desired account.
- Keeper fills in the available login details.
Some websites use multiple separate login screens. In that case, you may need to select KeeperFill again for the next field.
6. Create a New Record from KeeperFill
Is there no record yet for the website or app where you want to sign in?
- At the login screen, tap Keeper’s Search/Add option.
- Choose Create New Record.
- Fill in the requested information.
- Select Fill & Save.
Keeper saves the new record in your Vault and fills in the details immediately.
7. Use Passkeys
Keeper can also store and use passkeys on supported Android devices.
Make sure Keeper is set in Android as the preferred service for passwords, passkeys, and autofill.
When a website or app asks to create a new passkey, Keeper can save it in your Vault. At the next sign-in, Keeper can offer the stored passkey again.
8. Store 2FA Codes in Keeper
Keeper can also store and generate temporary 2FA codes (TOTP).
- Open the Keeper record for which you want to add 2FA.
- Select Edit.
- Choose Add Two-Factor Code.
- Scan the QR code from the relevant website or application, or enter the secret key manually.
- Save the record.
Keeper will then automatically generate the current 2FA code. When KeeperFill recognises the 2FA field of a website or app, this code can also be filled in automatically. :contentReference[oaicite:2]{index=2}
9. Organise Records in Folders
Use folders to keep your Keeper Vault organised.
- Tap the + symbol.
- Choose Folder.
- Give the folder a clear name.
- Save the folder.
You can then place existing or new records into this folder.
10. Share Records
Keeper allows you to share records directly with other Keeper users.
- Open the record you want to share.
- Select Share.
- Choose Share with User.
- Enter the email address of the Keeper user.
- Set the desired permissions.
Depending on permissions and your organisation’s policy, read, modify, and share rights may be available.
11. Use Shared Folders
When multiple records need to be shared with the same group of people, you can use a Shared Folder for this.
Add the desired users and determine, according to your organisation’s policy, what rights they have on the shared folder and its records.
12. Import Passwords
Keeper offers import options for existing passwords. The options vary depending on the source.
For more extensive imports, for example from other password managers or CSV files, it is recommended to use the Keeper Web Vault or Keeper Desktop. There, Keeper supports import from browsers, other password managers, and files such as CSV. :contentReference[oaicite:4]{index=4}
13. Securely Store Files and Photos
Keeper supports adding files and photos to records. You can open an existing record and use Add Files or Photos, or create a suitable record type for a file attachment.
Files are stored encrypted in Keeper. Availability and storage capacity may depend on your Keeper subscription and organisation policy. :contentReference[oaicite:5]{index=5}
KeeperFill Not Working?
Check the following:
- whether Keeper is set in Android as the preferred service for passwords, passkeys, and autofill;
- whether KeeperFill is enabled within Keeper itself;
- whether your browser and Keeper app are up to date;
- whether the correct website address is in the Keeper record;
- whether another password manager is not trying to perform autofill simultaneously.
If Keeper does not appear immediately, first tap in the username or password field so Android can show autofill options.
Some apps and websites use unusual login forms, making autofill not always possible. In that case, you can manually copy the details from Keeper.
