You can set up a printer in two ways:
- Let Windows automatically determine which printer is the default
- Set your printer as the default manually
By default, we choose the first option. This is useful if you often change location and need to print a lot.
Don't change location very often? Then it can sometimes be more convenient to set a default printer yourself.
You can change this setting yourself or your IT department can set it up for you.
You can find the setting to set a printer as the default here:
- Click Start and go to Settings.
- On the left, click Bluetooth & devices and then Printers & scanners.
- Is the option at the bottom turned off? Then you can manage your default printer yourself. If you want to set a different printer, select it and click Set as default in the top right.
